Examining nails carefully will give a clear picture on your health conditions.

Nails are just a small part of your body. Any difference from the normal condition of your nails should be carefully noted. It may be due to some simple reasons, not always due to serious problems. So consult a physician whenever you note some indications on your nails.


1.Yellow and dry nails tell about a variety of diseases. It may related to liver,respiratory system, heart etc.

2.White colored and dry nails are concerned with old age in a few. But in others it may be a sign of serious problems like anemia, heart attack, liver problem or nutrient deficiency.
 

3.In some people white frames are visible around the nails. This is due to diseases related  to liver. Yellow color of nails indicate fungal infection. This may accompanied with thickening of nails and breakage. In few yellow nails may be due to diabetes and  psoriasis.
 

4.When oxygen lacks our body turns blueish. It is mainly related to respiratory diseases generally pneumonia. Diabetic patients may also have blueish nails.
 

5.Rough nails with vertical lines are due to psoriasis and in a few cases due to some kind of 'vathas'. Reddish skin with tint brown color under the nails can be a larger sign. The symptoms of Psoriasis is first seen on nails.
 

6.Broken nails are the main symptom of thyroid. If yellow color is added to this then it confirms fungal infection.
 

7.Black lines between nails are serious symptoms of skin cancer. This can be easily found.
 


Have you ever felt like your nails itching? This is the clear symptom of anxiety disease. Obsessive compulsive disorder, a kind of mental disease also gives the same symptom.
If you find it difficult to stop your habit of biting the nails, it will be better that you consult a physician.
